Dr. Eid Bio

Alain Eid, MD is a 1991 graduate from St. Joseph University Medical School (Lebanon). He received his Medical school training in the hospitals of Paris, France. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at St. John Hospital, Detroit. He finished his fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care at the Oklahoma University Medical Center.

He was appointed Associate Professor of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine from 1998 through 2004 at the Oklahoma University. He is board Certified in Critical Care, Pulmonary Medicine and Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Eid has a special interest and vast experience in lung cancer diagnosis and management. He developed the Lung nodule Clinic/ Lung cancer center at the VA of Oklahoma City. Once in Colorado Springs, he championed the development of the lung Cancer Center at Memorial Hospital and then at Penrose Hospital.

Dr. Eid has also a vast experience in clinical research. He was principal investigators in many landmark trials in the areas of sepsis and ARDS. He is published in a wide array of leading medical journals (New England Journal of Medicine, Chest, Journal American Medical Association). He is currently heavily involved in research on COPD.

Dr. Eid started the COPD center at Colorado Springs Pulmonary Consultants. The goal of this center is to decrease hospitalization and slow down disease progression in patient with COPD.

Dr. Eid has a special interest in Pulmonary Hypertension. He is one of the few pulmonologist in Colorado who has ample experience in the diagnosis and management of pulmonary Hypertension cases. This covers the illness from all its aspect including right heart catheterization and infusion of prostacyclines.

Outside the practice of medicine, Alain Eid is a husband and father of three wonderful little girls. He is an avid skier and biker. He is fluent in four languages: English, French, Spanish and Lebanese.
