The purpose of this specialty center is to:
- Reduce ER visits
- Provide prompt medical attention and aggressive intervention between scheduled appointments for patients in need
- Address exacerbation/worsening of illness early after onset. This is when treatment is more effective and there are fewer side effects
Instructions
You are encouraged to call 719-471-7064 if you are having the following symptoms that are worse than your “usual” symptoms:
- Increased shortness of breath
- Wheezing
- New or worsening cough
- Changes in mucus (color, thickness, or frequency)
When you call, let the staff know that you have been given this card so that you may be evaluated in our clinic promptly. If you call after 12:00 p.m. we will try to see you the same day, however, if we are full you may be redirected to a next day appointment, an urgent care center, or the ER for further evaluation.
If your ONLY symptom is chest pain we encourage you to dial 911 or proceed to the closest ER for further evaluation.
